I’ve always been alright at math, taking Academic level classes in high school and completing up to Alg. II. My question is: Since my college path requires me to take up to Calc I, will I be alright at it? How difficult will it be for a so-so math student?

ehh when you get into college just take precalc. If you do calc homework its not that hard.. I usually teach myself the chapter the morning of the tests and have not gotten lower than a b+ on a test.

When you decide the school you’re going to, they will have you take an english and math placement test, so you know where you are in math. You may have to take some non credit math courses to refreshen, but you can catch up quick if you do summer classes. Judge by how you do in college math 1 and 2, and you’ll know if you need to change your major or not. It may come to it if you can’t pass the class, but with discipline and good study habits, you should be fine. As long as you can follow directions. I was always an “a” student in math, but my friend was a “b”, “c” student and she took the class and passed, so you should be ok. Good luck.
Generally, if math come easy to you it will continue too. If it doesn’t there is help out there. I am a math major at a university and I would be lying if I said it is not more difficult, but you should not be afraid. Be prepared to take precalculus, which if you have had algebra 2 some of it will be review. Calculus 1 is NOT one of more difficult calculus classes. If you do have trouble find the math lab at your college I am a tutor and I know how much we love to help. Don’t shy away from your instructor, most go into teaching because they want to help. Also I find that cramster.com is helpful at times. It is an answer board similar to this one. You can use it for free or sign up for a more deluxe package (the free works fine for me). Another good website for derivatives (a big part of calculus 1) is calc101.com. They will give you a detailed description on derivatives that you enter. Use these resources if you get stuck. Also using a rate you professor type of site can help because a good instructor can at times make a big difference. Best of luck

if you are a so so math student you have to take more pride into your work it is important to always do your best remember that through the rest of the days of your life you will need it and it will be as hard as you make it so if you make it easy then it will be easy to you now that doesnt mean that you dont have to try now you always hav to try wether it be in your job at home or in school i hope this helps you
